Networking Opportunities

Monthly Luncheon

This is held the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 12PM. The meal and presentation is provided to members free of charge by the hosting Chamber Member. The host has an opportunity to speak for approximately twenty minutes on a topic relating to their business/organization or an issue/subject the hosting business has experience with. During the luncheon we also allow time for special announcements from Chamber Members and give new Chamber Members the opportunity to speak briefly about their businesses. Attending Chamber Members are encouraged to bring business cards, flyers, and/or brochures to share with other members.

This is a great way to harvest the benefits of your investment in the Chamber by volunteering on one of the five Chamber Committees. Choose one of the committees that interests you, or falls under your expertise, and make a difference!!

Membership Banquet

This special event gives Chamber Members the opportunity to come together and recognize important people in our community. Live entertainment, food and activities are provided giving members an excellent environment for networking opportunities. All members are invited to this wonderful event held in the spring of each year.

Advertising and Marketing Opportunities

Ribbon Cuttings/Grand Openings

This is an excellent way to announce your business or organization’s new membership, grand opening, relocation, and/or special anniversary. These events are featured on our website and Facebook page, in our newsletter, and in our local newspaper the Douglas County Herald.

Welcome Packets

The Chamber provides Welcome Packets to new residents. This provides a perfect opportunity for businesses and organizations to reach potential new customers. Chamber Members are encouraged to provide fifty or more small promotional items, coupons, and/or brochures to be placed in our Welcome Packets.

Relocation/Visitors Packets

Each year the Chamber mails approximately one hundred fifty information packets to persons who wish to relocate or visit the area. These packets are only filled with material regarding the Ava area and information pertaining to Chamber Member businesses and organizations.

Membership Directory/Community Guide

This  full-color, fifty-two page guide is bursting with information such as: our community profile, calendar of events, points of interest, clubs and organizations,  city map, Chamber member business advertisements, and more.  Published annually, 2,000 copies of the Ava Community Guide are printed and distributed each year within the Ava community, throughout the seven county Ozark Heritage Region, and in requested relocation, visitor information, and welcome packets. The Guide is also posted on the Chamber’s website.

Website

The Chamber website helps connect the Ava area and your business to the world. This feature is included in your basic membership package. Chamber Members may list information on our Community Calendar of Events, Hot Deal, and/or Job Search pages. Your business is also listed within our Business Directory tab which links users to your website. There is also corporate advertising options for businesses that would like more exposure through banner ads.

Chamber Office

Our office is equipped with a display area for Chamber Member flyers, business cards and brochures. We are open Monday thru Friday, 9AM to 5PM.

Referral

The Chamber receives numerous inquiries each day requesting information regarding businesses that provide goods and services throughout the Ava area. Referrals of Member businesses takes precedence over non-member referrals.

Chamber  Newsletter

The Chamber publishes “Chamber Chat” each month which keeps you and your business informed of the happenings of the Chamber and its members. This newsletter is distributed to our Members each month and is also available for viewing on our website. You will find information such as: news from the director, Chamber Member events and promotions, new Members and/or ribbon cuttings, and business education articles. As a Member you are able to promote your business to other Members in every issue as a part of your annual membership.

Weekly E-Blast Ad Page

Full-color, weekly email publication contains reminders of upcoming Chamber and member events and advertisements from our business and organization members.

Membership Plaque

As a Member you receive a plaque recognizing your business as an active Chamber Member.

Board of Directors

After you’ve dipped your toe into volunteerism, consider making a commitment to the fundamental operation of the Ava Chamber. Elections are held each fall for new board members. Board Members devote their time, provide fresh ideas and a willingness to see the job through. If you are interested, let a fellow Chamber Member or current Chamber Board Member know so that a nomination may be made on your behalf.
